Can you include .3MF to the list of re-compressible formats?
    A

Can you include .3MF to the list of re-compressible formats? Its structure is similar to MS Office 2007 documents and Open Document Format. It is a ZIP Deflate archive with XML data and some JPG, and/or PNG pictures inside. Otherwise, if I try to compress .3MF it bearly makes it smaller unless I recompress .3MF to the Store setting then it makes it a lot smaller.
Wish they all would move to 7zip ZSTD in the first place so that the optimized file size with FileOptimizer would be 50% of the ZIP Deflate version. And there would be no extra compression needed :)

    Optimize archive on Context Menu
    W

I noticed that the option to add the optimize archive function to the context menu is missing on Windows 10.
Opening each archive with the interface in order to click it becomes tedious with many files.

Same for others functions like Remove Archive Encryption

I was just thinking, man it would be nice if I could use just one app for all my archiving needs. Unfortunately PA doesn’t have RAR functionality. This means I have to use WinRAR also, and I don’t know about you, but my right-click menu is getting pretty damn full!

I know the reason for this is because the RAR format is proprietary technology, and PA would have to pay for the licensing which would make PA cost more, but maybe you could offer two versions of PA in the future:

One regular PA version, and one RAR capable version… Maybe call it “PoweRARachiver”, or “PowerArchiver+R” (You know, like DVD+R)

IDK, just something to think about…

7zip keeps geting better and better! I very rarely use RAR formating attal!

I also think the developers of PowerArchiver would prefer to keep the name the same without changing it to much… If anything was to change then you Would get somethin on the lines of PowerArchiver Professional and PowerArchiver Standard.

Pro then could possibly be with additional features and part of them would be rar…

but again that costs time and most importantly money.

I agree that rar is not my favorite, but it is very popular online. Practically everything is either in .zip, .rar, or .iso… It doesn’t really make sense since .rar is so restrictive as far as what apps can extract it.

Does anyone know why everyone prefers .rar over .zip for spanned archives?

Because there are many different “editions” of .zip format and if you create a Spanned, AES encrypted, PPMd –compressed … or some other kind of “Advanced” zip not every archiving utility will be able to open/extract your archive… This is the main problem of zip format…

because that option does not exist. You can not do that. We can not do that.

On the other side, 7zip now considerably better compresses than rar so…
