Can you include .3MF to the list of re-compressible formats? Its structure is similar to MS Office 2007 documents and Open Document Format. It is a ZIP Deflate archive with XML data and some JPG, and/or PNG pictures inside. Otherwise, if I try to compress .3MF it bearly makes it smaller unless I recompress .3MF to the Store setting then it makes it a lot smaller.
Wish they all would move to 7zip ZSTD in the first place so that the optimized file size with FileOptimizer would be 50% of the ZIP Deflate version. And there would be no extra compression needed :)

    Optimize archive on Context Menu

I noticed that the option to add the optimize archive function to the context menu is missing on Windows 10.
Opening each archive with the interface in order to click it becomes tedious with many files.

Same for others functions like Remove Archive Encryption

      Greetings,

I’m attempting to use the Batch Archive Creation dialog to zip a handful of folders into individual archives. In the dialog, I have checked the ‘Group files from same folder into same archive’ check box.

What I would like is for each top-level directory (i.e. the one’s I choose with the ‘Add Folder’ button) to become its own archive that includes its entire contents, even if some of its contents are subdirectories. The problem, however, is that every directory - even subdirectories of the top-level directories - become separate archives.

To illustrate the example, consider a file system that looks like this:

      C:\

      __parent_folder_1

      __file_2
      __file_3

      __parent_folder_2
      __file_4

      __file_5

What I want is to add parent_folder_1 and parent_folder_2 to the Barch Archive Creatopm dialog and create two archives: parent_folder_1.zip and parent_folder_2.zip.

What happens, however, is that I get:

      parent_folder_1.zip
      child_folder_1.zip
      parent_folder_2.zip

From reading the documentation, this appears to be how it is supposed to work. My question is:

QUESTION: Is there any way to just get
      parent_folder_1.zip to automatically include
      child_folder_1 and it’s contents without
      creating a separate child_folder_1.zip archive?

I can do this manually by just creating a normal, one-off archive. For multiple directories, I can even enable the queue and adding all of the parent folders manually as individual jobs. It works, but it’s cumbersome when processing many directories. I’d really love to be able to automate this using the Batch Archive Creation dialog.

Thanks, in advance, for your input.

      -Michael

I went through all the hassle of registering to post that to batch convert folders to zip files is why I tried this app. The way it works, as posted above, is the reason I am uninstalling it. Otherwise I did like the app, and would’ve bought it if it operated as expected.

To the OP, I found this program: http://www.download.com/Batch-Zip-Folders-Utility/3000-2250_4-10848396.html?hhTest=1. For $10 less it does exactly what we are looking for.

                spwolf,

What is the release schedule for PA2009? From glancing around the powerarchiver.com web site, it appears that 2007 (which I am running) is still the most current release. Thanks.
