Can you include .3MF to the list of re-compressible formats?

The “File / Find Archives” functionality is not working and there is missing functionality that would help diagnose the error/issue.

Enhancement request. First, it would be very helpful to be able to point the “find archives” at a specific folder to “recurse” down rather than at the whole computer or a specific archive.

Bug. My version doesn’t allow me to point to a specific drive, the drop down where the drive is supposed to be is blank and the drop down menu contain no entries.

Bug. I pointed the find files to search the whole PC. It found a handful of archives when I known from a thorough file by file directory listing that there are at least 155 archives of types ZIP GZ TAR and Z. Huge data integrity issue here, folks.

Not confirmed.
In my case it quickly found over 800 archives, before I stopped it. {7z, Cab, Zip, ISO, Tar, bz2}

“PowerArchiver will search for all formats it supports”
So I guess this could mean only archive types, you have associated with PA ?

Note: when stopped, it displayed the results in a window titled “Favorite Folders” :confused:

By the way, could this ‘Found results window’ be made resizable please?
It is awkward with both long filenames and long pathnames.

It’s high likely that there are some “file type association” things going on. I’ll check <br />that . I was uninstalling and installing various alternatives to PA all day. I’m trying to search a dataset of 100,000+ files and PA is the only partial solution to use for this application. My motivation:<br /><br />1. There’s no way to automatically delete archive files that have been expanded<br /> as opposed to those archive files that may have been nested in other archive <br /> files and not yet expanded themselves. (Back to DOS script files, UGH!)<br /><br />2. Many archive files contain other archive files and PA does not expand recursively<br /> in one pass. (About 10% go a second pass, about 5% of them to a third pass)<br /> The data volumes in some of these situations are significant for me.<br /><br />3. There is not a way to expand the contents of the archive in the folder in which the <br /> archive is located AND automatically rename files that share the same name to <br /> limit path “length growth”. This otherise results in the loss of 75% of my original <br /> data if I try to expand archives without expanding the archive filepath structure.<br /> Not a great alternative.<br /><br /> Note: If I try to expand WITH the orginal path, I occasionally run into total path <br /> length issues > 255. PA emits incorrect error messages and doesn’t necessarily <br /> understand that something bad has happened. I got quite surprised to see the search result archives in the favorite folder as well…

Drop down issue is fixed in final release :-).

I am moving rest to the wishlist.
