Can you include .3MF to the list of re-compressible formats? Its structure is similar to MS Office 2007 documents and Open Document Format. It is a ZIP Deflate archive with XML data and some JPG, and/or PNG pictures inside. Otherwise, if I try to compress .3MF it bearly makes it smaller unless I recompress .3MF to the Store setting then it makes it a lot smaller.
Wish they all would move to 7zip ZSTD in the first place so that the optimized file size with FileOptimizer would be 50% of the ZIP Deflate version. And there would be no extra compression needed :)

    Optimize archive on Context Menu
    W

I noticed that the option to add the optimize archive function to the context menu is missing on Windows 10.
Opening each archive with the interface in order to click it becomes tedious with many files.

Same for others functions like Remove Archive Encryption

I like the new improved faster explorer view in PA9, but it could be faster still.

Currently folders are cached when opening archives, but it seems files are not since moving to a different folder in an archive requires that folder to be read. I’d like to see files cached as well so navigating around a large archive is almost instantaneous.

Because of the increased memory requirements, you could maybe add it as an option which can be enabled/disabled by users as required.

It shouldn’t be too difficult to implement, and would greatly speed up navigation in the explorer view.

EDIT: I forgot to mention that this is more noticeable with large archives on CDR/W.

As you said, problem comes with large archives that already take up large amounts of memory for file listing. We will try to speed it up in few different ways as well, without increasing memory usage.

          thanks,

Glad to see you’ve got some other ideas for speeding it up. I look forward to testing them.

I’d still like to see an option for caching the files as well. If people don’t require this option or are short of memory, they can disable it, but for people who want a faster Explorer view(at the expense of memory used) can enable it if they wish. Best of both worlds!
